Six years ago, Destinee and Chris met on Hinge. At the time, they were both freshly out of past relationships and in a season of healing—trying their best to trust God with whatever the next chapter of life might look like. Neither of them knew that a simple swipe would end up being the start of something far bigger than they imagined.

As they got to know each other, it didn’t take long for Destinee to realize Chris came with two very important qualities: a heart for God and the ability to recite nearly every line from Step Brothers at any given moment.

Somewhere between the laughter, the movie quotes, and the late-night conversations, Destinee had a pretty strong feeling she had found her forever.

Chris officially asked Destinee to be his girlfriend over dinner at SoNapa Grille. Destinee still laughs thinking back to the moment he reached across the table and grabbed her hand—she panicked for a split second thinking he might already be proposing. (Thankfully, he wasn’t… because she probably would have choked on her dinner.) From that night forward, they were basically inseparable and rarely spent a day apart.

Not long after, Chris came to work with the therapy department at AdventHealth Daytona Beach, which made their time together even more constant. Chris also took on the important role of Destinee’s personal morning chauffeur to work—a job he has performed faithfully ever since.

Over the years, they’ve built a life full of milestones and memories together. From moving into their first apartment to building their first home, each step has been another reminder that God had a plan all along—even when they couldn’t see it.

Most recently, while on vacation in Helen, Georgia, Chris secretly worked behind the scenes with a photographer to plan the perfect proposal. With the mountains as the backdrop and the moment finally here, he asked Destinee to spend forever with him. The photos you see on this website captured a moment that had truly been years in the making.

Their journey together hasn’t just been filled with happy moments—it’s also been filled with growth, faith, and perseverance. From walking through miscarriages together, to celebrating academic achievements and Destinee being accepted into graduate school to become a Family Nurse Practitioner, to welcoming the newest (and furriest) member of their family, Ranger—they have experienced so much side by side.

Through every season, God has been writing a story neither of them could have planned themselves. A story of healing, patience, laughter, and a whole lot of grace.
